Online photo gallery promotion drives awareness of new Seagate range

26 July 2007

An online promotion by Seagate, the world's largest hard disc drive manufacturer, has led to more than 30,000 people creating profiles in a web gallery in a bid to win a first prize of £25,000.

Seagate is using the mechanic to drive awareness of its new FreeAgent Data Mover digital storage range in Europe by inviting the online community to become a FreeAgent themselves by winning the life-changing cash sum.

Traffic has been driven to www.seagateactive.com through a combination of word of mouth, online PR and advertising on social network websites such as Facebook, MTV, Yahoo and MSN as well as similar sites in Seagate's other European core markets of France and Germany. To reflect the growing demand for data storage across Europe, the campaign has also taken in two additional target countries, Denmark and Italy.
